Leonardo DiCaprio

Celebrities get their lucky break from a variety of ways, but there are also instances when they get discovered from commercials. Before they dazzled us for as long as thirty minutes or three hours during one sitting, these celebrities have been charming us way before for less than a minute. You’ll be surprised at some of the commercials they’ve starred in. Who knows? You’ve probably seen the commercial before and have never noticed that someone famous was in it. Check them out in the following list!

"Old Spice" Guy Isaiah Mustafa Kicks Off 2013 ESPY Awards

Isaiah Mustafa- Old Spice

After his NFL career, Mustafa had a couple of minor acting roles but his role as the “Old Spice Guy” in the series of “The Man Your Man Could Smell Like” campaign catapulted him into stardom. Presently, he continues to star in commercials for the brand.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leonardo DiCaprio- Bubble Yum

Before Leo was a critically and commercially successful actor, he was known as the “Bubble Yum” kid and that pretty much put him into the spotlight. It might have even helped him land a few roles because it surely got him noticed. Everyone has to start somewhere even someone as big as Leo.

Paul Rudd

Paul Rudd- Nintendo

Who knew that Paul Rudd actually starred in a commercial for the SNES? This was years before he starred as Cher’s cute step-brother in Clueless. Hollywood might have started to take notice of his boyish charm in a few seconds or minutes.

13th Annual AARP's Movies For Grownups Awards Gala - Red Carpet

Naomi Watts- Tampax

Watts probably became a household name in Australia after this Tampax commercial since she was the face of the brand locally. This is probably a campaign that she wants to forget, but she has to give it credit for at least giving her some screen time to add to her portfolio when she was still trying to make it big in Hollywood.

Sarah Michelle Gellar- Burger King

Before she was Buffy the Vampire Slayer, she was trying to sell burgers in commercials. She definitely started young and maybe that’s why she landed so many roles in the future. Like DiCaprio, she proves that it doesn’t hurt to start working on your dreams at a young age.

The Hill And Entertainment Tonight Celebrate The 100th White House Correspondents' Association Dinner Weekend

Jonathan Goldsmith- Dos Equis

You might have seen him in a lot of memes, but he is primarily known as “The Most Interesting Man in the World.” Goldsmith should thank Dos Equis for making him such a recognizable figure. While he’s done other acting gigs, his beer commercial is the primary source of his large net worth.

2013 Summer TCA Tour - Day 9

Seth Green- NERF

Perhaps Seth got a start on his geeky roles in television and film through starring in a commercial for a NERF slingshot toy. We can’t help but wonder if he and Paul Rudd ever starred in a commercial together. These two definitely cemented their image early on and Green showed how likable he is in a short span of time.

Tina Fey- Mutual Savings Bank

When Fey was still working behind the scenes, she managed to get some screen time in a commercial for a bank. It might not the comedic role that we are all used to, but we can definitely see the charm and a lot of people have probably noticed and started offering her roles. It’s also a good example of how versatile Fey can really be.

Sharon Stone- Seagrams

Before she starred in Basic Instinct, she was actually paired with the already famous Bruce Willis for a Seagrams commercial to promote wine coolers. Maybe this was the exposure that showed agents that she had the looks to dominate Hollywood. Willis’ fame definitely helped in getting people to see it and take notice of Stone early on in her career.

CBS Films' "Last Vegas" Screening After Party At Haze Nightclub

Morgan Freeman- Listerine

Freeman has always been tapped for onscreen and voice over appearances. Perhaps, this commercial for Listerine gave Hollywood a taste o f his trademark voice and strong face. He might be a big Hollywood star, but that doesn’t mean Freeman doesn’t do other gigs from time to time. Maybe we will see him do a Listerine commercial again.
